The sound on this recording is wonderful. One has no problem of appreciating the unique Lucia Popp. The price is very enticing too. The only problem is that the amount of music on all 4 CDs is about 170 minutes, istead of usual 300 minutes these days. This is nearly half the normal length.

This four CD set of Lucia Popp samples every area of her luminous art, one of the most compelling soprano voices of the last fifty years, cut short by an early death. Her musicality, her transcendant way of inhabiting every thing she sang and bringing it alive is abundantly available. For anyone not acquainted with her, this is a bargain introduction.....
